We can deliver a 25-minute lecture recording as a translated podcast within approximately three working days: in English or Afrikaans (and, where applicable, in isiXhosa), ready for you to upload to SUNLearn for your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this way \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>you adhere to the requirements of the SU Language Policy;<\/li><li>you save time, since you don\u2019t have to record everything twice;<\/li><li>students have access to content in Afrikaans and English (and in isiXhosa, where applicable); and<\/li><li>you can work with professional, experienced educational interpreters at SU.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To prevent a bottleneck, we\u2019d like to ask that you send us your lecture recordings as you complete them. Please don\u2019t wait until the last minute \u2013 we need time to do preparation, translation, post-production and quality control for each podcast. Use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wetransfer.com\/\">www.wetransfer.com<\/a> to send the files to <a href=\"mailto:christinejoubert@sun.ac.za\">christinejoubert@sun.ac.za<\/a> (these files are too large to send via regular e-mail). We have included an infographic that further explains these steps. You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/languagecentre.sun.ac.za\/podcast-translation-to-support-multilingual-online-learning\/\">click here<\/a> to see an example of our work \u2013 this is just a small teaser of the more than 1 250 recordings we have made since lockdown in 2020!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make sure that we are on the same page, an interpreter will contact you before the start of the first term to schedule a short conversation on MS Teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will talk soon.
